She is Italian and grew...My mother loved this post. She is Italian and grew up hearing these stories. She said Befana would leave oranges in her mothers shoes Christmas morning (this was in 1912) but the tradition was not passed on to her generation. Im kind of sorry I missed out! But she said there was another character from Italian lore called Paglialieri (not sure about spelling) that her mothers generation believed in, and he would collect old rags from house to house for some reason.
