He was born in August 2010. I cannot tell you how many people are taken aback when they hear his name... totally confused. Not sure how to pronounce it... mixed reactions - usually people seem puzzled. I am surprised by this reaction as like you guys I think it sounds so much like Evan, Xander, Alexander, just a funky variation of them. I just love the name and am also surprised it hasn't caught on. We call him Vanny and it suits him perfectly. Also, I thought Holyfield was an extremely prominent, well-known sports figure. Another reason I'm surprised when people act like they've never heard the name before.BommaMamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06557083056401833261noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2987975473741642533.post-24806523697952334022011-10-26T01:27:59.494-07:002011-10-26T01:27:59.494-07:00Wow, love it! I even had a Valentine's Day baby boy back in 2005, but his name is Felix :)electronettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05522470426758427350noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2987975473741642533.post-44890450448654840532011-07-28T13:30:34.817-07:002011-07-28T13:30:34.817-07:00I love the name Evander also, if I have a son one ...I love the name Evander also, if I have a son one day I will most likely name him Evander! It sounds so strong and handsome to me! I've asked questions about the name Evander before on forums and websites, I've gotten responses like "I don't like it" why? "because it sounds weird"...it doesn't make any sense to me, it sounds so similar to Alexander and Evan which are both so popular. It has a very good meaning too which I like, thanks for posting this!axghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03709632772854590963noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2987975473741642533.post-38336233713876669892011-02-17T05:27:10.387-08:002011-02-17T05:27:10.387-08:00I love Evander! I'm surprised it's not more popular- it reminds me of Leander, Lysander and Landon, which I'm hearing more of lately, but with the E and V which are trendy. My parents and grandparents think "Holyfield" when they hear it, but I think the generations after theirs are removed enough from the boxer that Evander doesn't have any other connotation.

(And I know exactly the site of which you speak, and it pisses me off, too. Who are they to judge anyone's choices??)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2987975473741642533.post-20319205679343463892011-02-17T02:31:32.278-08:002011-02-17T02:31:32.278-08:00Ah, I love Evander.
